A superbly rich nose of small black fruits and fine chocolate.
A concentrated palate of dark plums, liquorice, cracked pepper and mulberry, filling the mouth with a core of chalky tannins and an ever so long finish.

We had this alongside a 1993 which seemed to have changed ever so slightly. The 1993 was more finely integrated but still very powerful and youthful, with a large liquorice component and a big stiff backbone of fruit tannins. Top marks for consistency.
(94 Points)

Mark,

Thanks for the notes. I have a bunch of older Wendy - is there anyplace that talks about drinking windows for these wines?

Jeremy Oliver (Australian wine critic) did a back tasting recently and some of the Australian wine forums often have members posting notes.
