| This was the deepest gold I have ever seen in a Riesling (not that I’ve had much). It had very heavy aromas of nail polish remover on the nose (acetone). Several people commented that they thought this had to be a TBA wine. Not very acidic, but oh so heavy on the palette. Rich and fat. Absolutely gorgeous aromas. It seemed very sweet and just completely coated the mouth.

| How long did the acetone last? I am not a big fan of that sensation, I must admit. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

Was this the Watervale Riesling, or the Cordon Cut Riesling?
Sounds like it may be the Cordon Cut, a non Botrytis sweet Rielsing based wine?

Hi
Thought so from your note.
Fascinating wine, a sweet wine made without Botrytis (well, at least none intentionally), but made by cutting the cane on which the wine bunch is held on the vine, and leaving the branch hanging on the trellis until ripe for picking.
Without the vine to sustain it the grapes slowly dehydrate, increasing the sugar and acid as a % and concentrating the flavours making a sweet wine of great concentration.
