Tasted May 26, 2006 at a retail tasting. Opened and served about an hour later in a Riedel Vinum Cabernet Sauvignon glass. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of carmalized crème brulee, blackberries, smoke and some coffee notes. Flavors of blackberries, black cherries and out of place tangy red cherries. Rounded tannins, tangy acidity. Somewhat of a short finish is disappointing. Drink over the next 3-4 years. Based on the $21.24 per bottle local retail price I’d say the value is acceptable. (87 pts.)
