Tasted at the Parsec Cup Syrah tasting in Frisco on 5/3/03.

Young and brash. Blueberry and vanilla pie aromas and flavors, with a hint of raspberry. Medium bodied, with no holes detected on the palate. The oak was noticeable, but did not detract from the balance. In this wine, the oak seemed to enhance the overall flavors and complexity. No drop off in flavors on the long finish. This was probably the most seamless wine of the night, and the QPR of the night.

This wine garnered two first place votes from the six tasters, but no second or third place votes. This was my WOTN, though it was surpassed by the 1998 E & E Black Pepper, once the E & E had more air time.
