2002 Lengs & Cooter Shiraz McLaren Vale Reserve (WIML93,WA92,WS91)

Tasted October 16, 2005 at a retail tasting so brief comments. Opened and served immediate in Riedel restaurant line Syrah glasses. Dark purple to crimson color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nudge it up to your nose and YOWZA! Huge nose of roasted coffee, vanilla, buttered popcorn (yes I just said that) and dark, rich fruits. Flavors abound such as fresh, in season blueberries, cherries, coffee and some black currants. Just a pleasant touch of earthiness. He shoots, he scores! Drink now with a minimum of an hour in the decanter assuming you can keep your hands off of it or hold upwards of 10 years. Not only is it recommended WDoT and myself split a case on the spot.

Could not agree more.

In the words on Andrea Immer....."WOW!"

Half way through the month, this one is a strong contender for WoTM.

WDoT says 93.

I think the list is $54.99 here in Dallas. I'll have a better idea when we pick up our case.

Run there, wherever you can get it. Great stuff and worth the price.
