2004 Marquis Philips Sarah's Blend Southeastern Australia (WIML89,NOWA,NOWS)

Tasted October 16, 2005 at a retail tasting so brief comments. Opened and served immediate in Riedel restaurant line Syrah glasses. Dark purple color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of briar patch and dark fruits. Flavors of black cherries, mocha and pepper. Good balance. Drink over the next six months and then cellar for one year. Recommended QPR.

A well-made wine for the money, but still in need of time. Big and hot with bursting blueberry and plum notes. (88 pts.)

We were considering drinking this last night, but will probably let it sit based upon WIML and your notes.

Yeah, I'd let it cool its heels for a little bit. It's been my experience with the lower- and mid-range MP wines that they mellow significantly after some months.

I had this a few nights ago and likes it quite a bit. I am going to buy a few more for near term consumption. I do like em young though. I really liked the nose on this.

no TNs here.........but........I bought two 04 Sarah's and two 04 Shiraz's to try right now (well, soon) to determine if I should buy larger quantities.

I'm not expecting either of these to be showing their best stuff right now, this is just to kick their tires

I've been drinking the 02 Shiraz and Sarah's quite regularly and they've hit their stride and are very fragrant and enjoyable. I bought about 2 cases of each and have been following them regularly since release.

However the 02 9 Shiraz has been less forgiving......twice, it was phenomenal and well deserving of the RMP 96, twice, it was a wound up alcohol wad even with lots of decanting. I'm hoping this just needs longer, and isn't doing the bouncy time variation thingy.

$14.00, Retail.

I am in the same boat as the posters above. A great QPR & a great bottle under $15.00. Plus, this is a hit with non-winos. Like others above, I recommend this highly @ this price.

The only publication that rated this (so far that I am aware of) is Oeno-File @ 89 points.

Rating: 88 points, drink or hold.

What a deal.
Great for the back deck BBQ tonight.
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is... .ps - friends don't let friends eat farmed salmon.
