Notes from an Australian Shiraz tasting, held April 8th, 2003

Bright cloudy red color, and a fantastic creamy nose of blueberries and spice. Superb length on the palate with ripe, fine tannins and well integrated oak, showing some cedar notes at the finish. Excellent, my #2 wine of the flight, 94 points, drink now-2008

Dark garnet/black colour. Aromas of sherry, vanilla, blackberry, and caramel. Full-bodied with red fruits and plums. Moderate-long finish, ~40-45s, with spice notes. 91 points (08/07/2004).

was this wine decanted at all? I had a bottle a few months back and really enjoyed it after it had some air time. Thanks for the note.

I think I recall decanting it for about 2-3 hours. A very good wine, but not the blockbuster that some people were expecting, regardless of the fact that it was caught between two outstanding vintages ('96 and '98)
