Notes from an Australian Shiraz tasting, held April 8th, 2003

Dark black color, with a nose that is more reminiscent of a Zinfandel than a Syrah. Very sweet, jammy, while this was a pleasant enough drink I found it overripe and showing almost no varietal character. Certainly a crowd pleaser however, as it’s immediate appeal is hard to deny. I rated this #4 in the flight at 87 points.
