1999 Oddfellows Langhorne Creek Shiraz
$27.99
Alcohol 15.4%
Start-Finish: decanted 3 hours

The 1999 Oddfellows Shiraz shows nice coloration, clarity, and body, dark ruby red and medium-bodied. Early in the game the nose was filled with primary dark fruits, black currant, spicy black raspberry, tar; then cordial cherries, licorice, and black pepper with some noticeable alcohol. In the mouth; spicy black fruits, black pepper, licorice, wet toasty oak, and raspberry. The wine really began to fall apart at the 2 hour mark and the finish became noticeably hot and austere, with the nose fading. Not much of a finish to speak of, just some mild lingering alcohol and oak with some fruit. Just drink it up in the first hour or so, and it is pretty tasty.
