| 1999 Oddfellows Langhorne Creek Shiraz $27.99 Alcohol 15.4% Start-Finish: decanted 3 hours
The 1999 Oddfellows Shiraz shows nice coloration, clarity, and body, dark ruby red and medium-bodied. Early in the game the nose was filled with primary dark fruits, black currant, spicy black raspberry, tar; then cordial cherries, licorice, and black pepper with some noticeable alcohol. In the mouth; spicy black fruits, black pepper, licorice, wet toasty oak, and raspberry. The wine really began to fall apart at the 2 hour mark and the finish became noticeably hot and austere, with the nose fading. Not much of a finish to speak of, just some mild lingering alcohol and oak with some fruit. Just drink it up in the first hour or so, and it is pretty tasty. Seek1 87 pts. | | | |
