When Barbara and I visited the Barossa in March of 2003, we were fortunate to spend a few hours with Michael Twelftree at the winery. This wine had just been bottled, and we enjoyed it with lunch at Seasons of the Valley. The wine is 60% Shiaraz and 40% Gernache. Right now, it is providing a great deal of drinking pleasre with about a one hour decant. On the nose and palate, you get cheries and spice that are very powerful. The label says it is 15% alcohol, but we did not find it hot. The mouthfeel is pure velvet and the finish leaves you asking for the next glass or bottle. It was about $22 well-spent dollars.
