15% Alcohol
Blueberries and orange peel, hint of coffee and cedar on the alcoholic nose. Mocha, coffee palate which carries through on the finish.
Still have half a bottle to wade through but my impression is this wine, like the other '03 MPs I've tried, doesn't have the richness, fruit intensity and small tannin chewiness to cover the alcohol to be a pleasurable, reasonably balanced wine.
At $26, this might pair well with our carne asada recipe or a good pizza but as a stand alone drink, judgement reserved.
We have enjoyed all the MP wines to date for their in your face characteristics, the '03s are just much less in your face. | | | |
