| What a pleasant surprise this turned out to be and a fine value as well at $13,99.
Ruddy ruby colour in the glass, with aromas of berry, hints of chocolate, leather and a touch of wet earth. In the mouth surprisingly supple through to the finish with an ample finish. No harshness of palate or finish, and fine by itself, this needed no food IMO. At $14 i wish i'd bought more. this was a single. A solid 90 points. Nowhere near the downhill slope, this will last a bit longer. Enjoy now or wait a few more years.

| Hey Frankie, this was the WS TAA for March. Here's thelink
My notes:
Special thanks to the Rootses because not only did Ronnie suggest this wine but he gave me a bottle as well - both very much appreciated.
I tipped a little into a glass before decanting - always like to taste without its benefit - not a lot of difference.
Colour was a beautiful dark, bright ruby with a nice pink rim. Smooth and silky around the glass with good legs.
Nose was powerful enough to get through my current sniffing problems and the black fruits were very much in evidence - I picked up blackcurrants and berries but cherries were in evidence as well. There was also a fair spiciness to it.
In the mouth it was also smooth with a nice texture and a big bang of fruit balanced nicely with acidity and tannins. Later in the night the acidity came more to the fore but never unpleasant.
Then we had to see how it went with food and this is where it scored best. We had a greek salad with a solid feta cheese in there which the wine loved and followed with moussaka, which also worked well.
For the info of Stevie and the Rootses, I've broken down the score how I described on Thursday:
Looks - 23/25 Nose - 22/25 Mouth - 23/25 Finish - 22/25
Total - 90
Very good consistent wine with aging potential and food friendly. Once again - thank you.
