2004 Quinta do Valdoeiro Bairrada - Portugal, Beiras, Bairrada (6/26/2008)
WIML86-87?

Tasted June 26, 2008 as part of the WinExiles tasting for June.

14% alcohol. Blend of 50% Baga and 50% Touriga Nacional. Aged 6 months in French oak.

Opened and served immediately. Dark garnet color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of Welchs grape joice, boysenberry and black currants. Flavors of black berries and black raspberries. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannins, medium body. Short to medium finish. Simple, straightforward wine purchased locally for $16.99 but can for closer to the $11.99 mark so it's a decent little QPR at that price point. Drink over the short term, let's a couple of years.

Definitely benefited from being paired with food. (87 pts.)
