| | In advance of visiting Greece this summer, I felt we ought to try some Greek wines. This wine had a California-like nose of tropical fruit, honey, and a little oak. There the similarity ended. The wine had a bitter edge that ameliorated with an hour's time, and it was a bit thin and sharp, similar to many Niagara Chardonnays, except that this one actually smelled like a Chardonnay. Soft flavors of lemon oil and toasted oak were nice and started to grow on me with time. They certainly helped balance the sharpness. The wine went well with chicken in a morel cream sauce. It was far better than I thought it would be. 85 | | | |
