Huge dark thick purple color that just lets a little light through at the edges. You can tell this will be a huge wine. Thyme, cherry and cough syrup start out. Smoke and earth follow. Great nose. Huge, big, strong (did I say huge?). Long finish with a fruit ending. Love the nose, has a great structure, but don't like the wall of tannins. Taste just doesn't fallow through with the promise of the nose. Still, 92 points now with more to come as it settles down.
