| This is a ripasso style Valpolicella.
Dark cherry core but not very intense. Seems to have both a youthful pink and an aged brown rim - depending on how you look at it.
Bit of funk, lots of sweet cherry, raisin and mud on the nose.
Opens with a tinny, stewed plum thing, followed by the cherry and grape. A moderately long finish of coffee grinds. Light tannins and moderate palate-cleansing acicity
$28 CDN, 89points. | | |

| $28CAD? That's highway robbery, and I'm talking about the Vancouver-Whistler highway kind!
It's only $19CAD here! | | | |

| Oh you just had to say that. Here I thought I'd found a QPR winner. At $19, I'd buy a case! | | | |

| Sorry pv! I think I should go pick up a bottle. I need to stop by the LCBO anyway since the bottle of 2001 Casa de la Ermita Jumilla I openeded tonight was corked. | | | |

| futronic, the Ermita Monastrel-based blend is $23 here. The Tempranillo-based blend is $29. I'll bet you have painful comment or two to make now! | | | |

| Seaq, You're really a glutton for punishment, aren't you? The Tempranillo-based blend is what we've got out here, and it's $17CAD. This is what the bottle looks like. The easy way to tell is the grey foil on the bottle. I can't believe how out of line your pricing on this bottle is! | | | |

| Watch the Canadians shoot barbs at each other. It's like a great tennis match! Who's got the popcorn? | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

tj, if you like this exchange of words, then you should spend more time reading/watching Canadian news. West-coasters hate the centre of the universe!
BTW, that will be $6.75CAD, or $6.00USD for the popcorn. Don't forget to tip your waiter ... | | | |
