$27CAD (I think)

Ruby red colour to rim; crystal clear. Aromas of cherry, pear, glycerin, and wet earth. Very fresh smell. Almost a cola touch to it. Medium bodied, firm tannin, fresh tasting, bursting with cherry notes. 15s finish with cherries following right through to the end. Tasty. 87 points (10/14/2003).

I have the 2001 in my 'cellar', a gift from Ristorante La Posta in Firenze. Sounds like it was a nice bottle to get as a gift if the 2001 follows your notes of the 2000. Thx

tj, I'm sure it will be quite tasty. The 2001 will likely be better than the 2000, knowing Tuscany's streak of "odd-numbered" years being better than even. Mind you, that theory goes completely out the window with 2003, but it was fun while it lasted.

Even better, futronic.

2003, I take it that it will suck since they had all the big heat wave, right?

Well, if the vineyards were managed well, hopefully there wasn't much raisining or outright shrivelling of grapes.

Some people are calling for a good year, but I would imagine that it will produce some pretty concentrated, jammy wines as opposed to traditional juice. Not what I consider spectacular for the region.

We'll see what happens, I guess.
