1999 Anselmi Capitel Croce from the Veneto.

This one is from 100% Garganega and has spent about 12 mos in French oak, and it was definitely evident. The nose seemed akin to chardonnay with nice apply as well as citrus notes with a hint of vanilla like spice. This version is almost full bodied but lacked the sense of finesse and refreshment that I got from the Pieropan. It definitely had more richness though with more orchard fruit coming out and a finish of almost cinnamon like spice. I'm not sure I would hold on to this wine very long, as the fruit although evident seemed to be a touch lean because of the oaky flavors
