| Tasted from double magnum.
Inky, opaque dark ruby/purple. Aromas of oak, vanilla, and black fruit. A little hot. Solid fruit including cassis peeking out from behind the oak. Really started coming into its own after about 8 hours. Has a long, lingering finish. Cellar this one for a while. 90 points.

| From the Magnum party in New Orleans:
Excellent! Aromas of dark cherries, leather, and earth on a high acid, tannic frame. Approachable now, but will undoubtedly continue to improve with some time in the cellar. 92 points, drink 2005-2008(?) | | | 2008: the end of an error

| eric:
your timeframe of 2005 to 2008? is for the double magnum? not that i have a double mag of this, but no doubt i'll pick up a couple 2000 tigs along the way. i'd have thought the double mags of this would go longer.

| Frankie - you are probably right, the double mag will likely go further (thus the '?' following the date, indicating I am unsure about the end date). | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| I would expect the double magnum would make 2015 without too much trouble. | | | |

| antinori is probably my favourite tuscan producer, although felsina and fontodi are up there as well. that said, i'm a little nonplussed at the escalation in prices for tig, guado, even the CC from these producers. it's getting harder and harder to shell out $70 plus for these ST vinos. seems i'm looking more and more for the CC values from tuscany for drinking. but based upon your TN for this 2000 tig, i'll be picking up some soon. | | | |

| FWIW, the 2000 Tig is on the shelves at our local Costco for about $56. | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| thanks eric, that's where i'll be looking. the 99 tig started above there, at about $60, but they have dropped it a it to $56, so i'll take a look. bordeaux there lately has been disappointing. | | | |

| 2000 Antinori Tignanello -- dark ruby colour; cherry, roasted nuts, brown sugar on the nose; lots of ripe cherry, tobacco flavors, slight hint of bitterness; medium-length finish with a lot of drying tannins hanging on longer than the fruit. Needs more time in the bottle, but doesn't taste to me like it will ever become one of the better Tignanellim. Around 85-88 pts. | | | |

| I guess I'll be holding my single bottle for a while in the hopes this comes together a bit more. | | | www.roguefood.com -- www.cellartracker.com | |

You about covered it. We had it last night at a restaurant with a spectacular steak. Wine really set off the steak nicely.
