'88 Sassicaia that followed showed some real class! The nose was of sweet ripe currants with a well integrated note of vanilla spice with a sweeping intensity that one would expect from a more youthful wine. It also had complexities of leather and a hint of hi-toned flowers that I find in exceptional reds. The palate was as full as the Solaia but much more integrated with waves of flavor and depth.
