Sometimes a wine like this is very evocative of its origins. To enjoy this you should like your acidic sour cherry flavors and dark chocolate. Under $20 this just was just killer. Served with Pasta Puttanesca. Yum.

Clear dark garnet; Sour cherries, anise, and dark chocolate aromas and flavors. At one point it smelled like one of those chocolate covered cherry candies. A great recommendation from a local wine store; it smelled and tasted like Piedmont for me! I tasted at this winery in Piedmont and wasn't all that impressed but after opening this wine I wondered about that tasting. Balanced, under $20 and wildly worth the $$. (89 pts.)
