Outstanding wine.
- 1998 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Falletto di Serralunga d'Alba - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (3/15/2008)
94+; Clear, dark ruby red in color; Bottle 439; Initially this wine was tight after opening but after time in the decanter the rose, cherry and spice aromas came through loud and clear. The finish was spectacular and about 30 seconds in length. Fine grained tannins. Balanced and structurally a big wine but made with finesse. Classic Barolo that approached stunning. Still very young but oh so good and should continue to improve. Decanted for 30 minutes prior to serving with + result. (94 pts.)
