Slightly cloudy, hazy with a moderately concentrated garnet core with a ruby rim and medium viscosity.  Moderately intense nose of black cherry, plum, currant, dried leaf, humus, with some new French oak influences of vanillin and cloves.  Medium body, soft and silky with high complexity, moderate alcohol, high acidity, low plus tannin and long length.  Plum, currant, dried black cherry, light wet earth, dried leaf with more French oak accents of cocoa, vanillin, cinnamon and clove.  Balanced and a great example of a modern styled Chianti.  This and Felsina (more so) are my two favorite (varying styles) of CC almost every year.  Definitely worth the $20 tariff, just know ahead of time there are some international varietal and French oak inflections. 92pts.
