| Produced from 70% Lambrusco and 30% Ancellotta. Another wine hiding at my mom's house that was gifted to her. I guess since two of her kids work in the wine business everyone gives her wine,. Unfortunately they are usually less then thrilling which is why she hasn't opened any of them. I am being the guinea pig.Â
Deep opaque purple, lightly petillant, moderate nose of raspberry, plum, dried bing cherry, cocoa powder. Rather full body, moderate complexity, high acidity, faint tannin, light petillance on the palate as well with a long, ever so slightly sweet finish. Plum, dried black cherry, dried raspberry, light damp earthiness. Suprisingly not bad and not at all what I was expecting, it screams for a plate of salumi and sausages though. Bob, maybe a cheaper replacement for your sparkling shiraz?  85pts.
