| | Excellent it was drinking really well young for an italian. Not overly tannic and good fruit. I wouldn't have guessed it was Chianti almost tasted like a Pinot. This is a crowd pleaser that even non italian fans would enjoy. No need to drink now, it should be even better in a couple years but wouldn't hold too long, but delightfull now. Ripe cherries with dark wet earth. 92 points I found it at K & L for about 32 might be harder to find now. | | | |

| | Exactly, why pay that amount for this riserva when the Rancia is head-over-heels better. | | | |

| | You guys are right add "Rancia" to the end of that I checked the bottle. Looks like K&L has it for $35. | | | |

| | That makes a lot more sense. The Rancia is a great wine and that is a good price. The normale is usually around $17-20 and the regular Riserva $20-25. | | | |

| | Then, cool because I just bought some of the Rancia. And some 2004 La Brancaia Ilatraia. Thanks for the note. | | | |

| Re: 2004 Fattoria di Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia
We tried one of these last night. I agree with Cassismatt's original note. Even with a cold I could tell this was a very good Chianti. This one is a buy at ~$30.

I was under the impression that they produced: Classico Riserva Riserva Rancia Fontalloro Vin Santo Maestro Raro I Sistri

| Back to the Rancia - this is one good Chianti. We needed something with fruit and acid to match with a carbonara sauce. This was good with the dish.
I rarely buy more of any one wine but this one will be an exception. If you like Chianti (or not this wine almost tastes like Pinot) this is a super buy right now. Around $32 at various places.
2004 Fattoria di Felsina Berardenga Chianti Classico Riserva Rancia - Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico (12/13/2007) 92+ points with potential for improvement; This will probably improve with bottle time but it's really drinking well now. Excellent Chianti although its weight is somewhat atypical for Chianti. Well-priced at ~$30. [Decanted, after about 30 minutes it really opened up.] (92 pts.)

| | That's probably borderline for pricing but it is good wine. There aren't too many wines that good at that price point and it should age nicely. Try one and see what you think. | | | |
