A random bottle in the cellar that we had not tried yet.Â
- 2001 Argiano Brunello di Montalcino - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (9/10/2007)
Dark clear ruby in color; A touch of menthol, dark fruit and very slight horsey brett on the nose; Flavors included black cherry fruit with olive on the exit. Smoke and a bit of vanilla oak on the finish. Balanced with decent structure but needs more time. [Decently priced at ~$30 on release; Decanted 30 minutes and opened up with time; quite a bit of sediment] (89 pts.)
