This was a lone ranger in the cellar so it climbed into the queue.
1997 Canalicchio di Sopra Brunello di Montalcino Le Gode di Montosoli - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (6/28/2007)
Dark clear garnet in color with a bit of browning; There was just not a whole lot going on with this wine. Very pleasant with muted spice and smoke flavors. Having never had this wine before I don't know if this is a typical showing. The cork was abnormally soaked so heat damage was a possibility. This had evidence of aging in its color and some secondary flavors. (87 pts.)
