2004 Tenuta Sette Ponti Crognolo Toscana IGT - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (4/24/2007)

Tasted double blind at home on April 24, 2007. Opened and served immediately in a Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glass. Dark garnet color, clear hue throughout. Nose of black berries, plums, tobacco and maybe some currants. Flavors of raspberries, red berries, cherries and a little bitters on the finish. Maybe a little eucalyptus on the medium length finish. Medium to high acidity, firm tannins, medium body. Drink now maybe with some decanting time or hold a year or two and try again then. My guess is this is the 2004 Tenuta Sette Ponti Crognolo we have in our queue. (90 pts.)
