| Opened and let breathe for about an hour and a half...
Nose of cherry cola, dark fruits, limestone, cinnamon and tar. Medium-full bodied palate with medium plus intensity. Focused with highish, well integrated, acidity. Long cherry cola finish with more tannins (fine) than you typically expect from Barbera. 91.5
At $42, a Barbera really needs to show off. This doesn't beat out the high end Spinettas or even, necessarily, Sandrone, which can be found in the $20s. But it is top notch and worthy of inclusion in that modern premium barrique-aged Barbera class and depending upon my mood and options I may swing for this again, but it isn't on my 'must buy' list. | | I can't listen to that much Wagner.
