| - 1999 Il Poggione (Roberto Franceschi) Brunello di Montalcino Riserva - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (3/10/2007)
Tasted at a retail wine tasting. Strange nose of aged cheese and raisins. The palate, on the other hand, is a different story altogether. Old world notes of dried berries, cedar plank, and autumn leaves. Long finish. If not for the slightly off-putting nose, I might have given it a higher score. (90 pts.)
