A good buy if you can find it under $60 or so. It is available for less than that. It is the first time in a very long time that we've tried a wine and immediately re-ordered more. The 99 is possibly better.

Clear garnet in color with an orange tinted rim; This was a lovely Barbaresco just acquiring secondary characteristics. There were cherry, floral and earthy aromas carrying through with the same flavors. The finish was very long and aromatic with cherry and minerals. Velvet texture. It was balanced with some evident acid and tannin and room for additional improvement. A wine that should always be with food. (92 pts.)

Wow, quite the contrast toRico Thompson's very recent note. Interesting.

Our lot must be way better. I've had two bottles of it and both were good. The other notes in CT and the other people (Nebheads) who tasted/bought it here in Austin agreed. It doesn't even sound like the same wine - our bottle had acidity, nothing flabby about it. Dave thought I should score it even higher. To each their own...

This bottle had significantly less acid than the previous bottles. The dreaded bottle variation...

Notes similar to the previous bottle but this bottle lacked overall complexity. Still good but just not quite to the level of the other bottles. There appears to be some bottle variation with this wine based on various reviews. I believe that my lot is one of the better ones as all of the previous bottles have been good. (90 pts.)

We've had two good bottles since that one.  That bottle wasn't bad but wasn't as good as the others.  Nebheads - FWIW Woodland Hills still has this wine for $49.99.  And their lot is good as I bought over two cases of it to share with local people and all reports have been good.  These don't have the complexity of the BG single vineyard wines but they have some age on them and have been well-stored.

No bottle variation with this bottle. It actually improved when tasted on day 2. (91 pts.)

Dark garnet in color with orange tint on the rim. This bottle seemed mature and was drinking very well. Not much to add to previous notes except that the finish was extremely long and floral. Good Barbaresco. [Decanted 30 minutes with good results] (91 pts.)
