2001 Poderi Aldo Conterno Barolo Bussia Soprana - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (11/17/2006)

Very clear medium garnet in color; Sacrificed young for the team; It was balanced young Nebbiolo with a fine, aromatic nose and long finish. It was somewhat thin in texture but that can be typical of some young Barolos. It continued to improve in the decanter and subsequent glasses over the course of the dinner. Not a blockbuster big Barolo, stylistically more subtle. [~$50 on release; Decanted 20 minutes and needed it; Next bottle 08/09] (90 pts.)
