75 Winetex; $30

This wine came highly recommended by one of the retailers here in town. His hype is suspect but this looked interesting and I'm always on the search for good Pinot.

The bottom line is that there was no fruit in this wine, just overwhelming oak. You definitely don't find this statement very often when discussing pinot - "it was like licking a piece of wood". We didn't drink it and it was slightly better the next day but still oak hell.

Trusting the commission-driven salesperson is always a tough game to play. I rarely do that (unless I really learned to trust the person & his/her taste).

Sorry about that, $30.00 should buy a pretty good Pinot. It happens to the best of us...
