I was shocked to see no previous TN on this wine. Hold it, hold it. 1997 Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (11/19/2005) From magnum; Good Brunello that still needs some time. (92 pts.)

Is this the one that WIML brought to VLV3? Wasn't that the '99? Wow, was there a lot of wine there.

I agree with Winetex (actually I think I thought this is a 91.5 point wine). Funky nose, too. Good wine, not a great wine. a

1997 Altesino Brunello di Montalcino Montosoli - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (5/24/2007) WIML92+,WA93,WS98 Tasted May 19, 2007 at an offline. Opened and served immediately. Garnet color in the glass, slightly dusty looking in the glass. Nose of leather with some black berry aromas. Flavors of black berries with a little cherry. Medium acidity, drying tannins, medium body. Needs more time so I recommend holding. Potential for improvement here. (92 pts.)
