| - 1995 Luciano Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo (11/5/2005)
92+ points with the right stuff for improvement; Dark ruby red in color; This wine displayed some secondary characteristics with an aromatic nose of spice and florals along with black cherries. In the middle there was an interesting component of mint along with dark berries. I can only imagine how tannic this wine might have been on release but now the tannins are present and in balance with the rest of the wine. It was very good Barolo in a more "modern" style and better with the food. [$94 pb purchased recently in pristine condition; Decanted for 30 minutes and needed it; Can be opened now but could hold indefinitely] (92 pts.)

| Thanks for the notes Winetex - I love Sandrone's wines and look forward for my 1998s (my oldest Barolos from him) to mature. According to some TNs I've read, his 1990s are drinking very well right now. | | | |

| I have a feeling that this wine was so tannic in its youth that it probably wasn't that good. After 10 years post-vintage this one was just starting to show secondary characteristics. I bought it because many of my Piedmont wines are too young to drink. A great effort from Sandrone. | | | |

| A wine that I could "Albino". 1995 Luciano Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barolo Lovely Barolo definitely in its groove. See previous notes. Very good Barolo that is probably still improving. Superb balance as others note. [Decanted one hour with good results] (92 pts.) | | | |
