Purchased for $55 off the wine list at a Chicago resturant called Via Emilia (excellent food, reasonable prices, very friendly). The "Bricco Manzoni" is a Piedmont Vino da Tavola blend of 80% Nebbiolo and 20% Barbera. WS rated this 92P.

Dark purple color. Enticing aromas of violets, black raspberries, and sage. Substantial amount of dark brambly fruits (not overdone or sweet), with nuances of espresso and white pepper. Fine-grained tannins either completely integrated or fully diminished. Ready to drink right now. Excellent with food. 90P.

Recommended. An easy drinker, we easily polished off two bottles between three people.

I haven't seen it retail stores around here, but checking wine-searcher.com I see it is available at a CA store called Liquid Party Works for $27.

This is indeed a very good food wine. Quite soft and smooth, but with enough acidity to stand up to tomato-based sauces. If you do find some, I recommend drinking it sooner rather than later. There are virtualy no noticeable tannins left on the finish.
