Opened and not decanted for 12 hours, then decanted for 1.5 hours and consumed. Medium-garnet colour with orange flecks. Aromas of strawberry, violets, vanilla, orange rind, cherry, earth, grilled meat, cinnamon. Medium-full bodied, juicy, with fresh strawberry, currant, sweet red plums. Tannins integrated nicely. Short-moderate length finish, 25-30s, with red berry fruit. This wine is drinking well right now, and I see no reason to hold further. Drink now and over the next several years. 90 points (05/20/2005).
