Tight nose of plum, prunes and earth. Medium bodied with more plum, earth and a dash of spice. Dry, mildly tannic finish. Interesting to try, but not recommended.

I found this to be surprisingly red in color. Mostly I agree with your note. With certain more difficult Italian foods, this wine might be a neat match. It is off of the beaten path and not something to stock up on.

I think it's in the 82-84 range if you must rate it. It gets points for uniqueness, but doesn't grab ya...
