This is my my first tasting note so be gentle......

Opened the bottle and decanted for an hour. The wine was a beautiful ruby color but not as dark as others I have had, particularly Fontanafredda. The nose was wonderful, lots of berry and floral with a hint of tar. It was quite dry, made my mouth pucker and that is the way I like my Barolo. It had a nice finish and I wish I had more than 1 bottle. At 35 bucks I will probably buy a few more and let them sit for a year.

As for the food pairing, Shrimp Scampi over mini penne. Maybe not traditional but it was a wonderful combo.
