| 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc.
Dark ruby/garnet colour. Aromas of eucalyptus, black fruit, black olive, and plums. Medium-full bodied with pepper, oak, figs, and crushed red berry fruit. Moderate-long finish, ~ 30-40s. Has many years of life ahead of it. 90 points (03/20/2004).

| Thanks for the note. I will leave my bottle for a few more years.
Have you had the '97 any time recently? I'm seriously thinking of cracking one of mine. I want to open a '97 Tig, '97 Flaccianello or '97 Fontodi Vigna del Sorbo for an Italian dinner I have coming up.

| I haven't tasted the '97 Tig, unfortunately. My understanding is that it needs more time.
The only vintages I've had are '91, '98, '99, and '00.

| my last 97 tig was about 3 months ago and it was not showing very well, in a shut down phase. altho i haven't had in a while, i would assume the same with the flaccianello. if you can avoid the 97's right now, i'd recommend that. i've been drinking other itals, namely 99's mostly. | | | |

| Rieslingfan, I tried the '97 Tig about a month ago (2 bottles). It was really quite shut down and only after about 2 hours in decanter did it start to show anything at all. Even then it was not much. I posted tasting notes on this site. I would provide a link to them, but I am clueless as to how to do this. In short, save it for a few more years, it is not drinking very well right now. | | | |

| Thanks folks. I'll go for a '99 instead. Perhaps the Cepparello. | | | |

| Tasted at the February BAWE Tuscan event... Very dark purple in color, this is a really big wine. Opening with dense black fruits, spice, blackberries, and cedar, the palate is smooth and rich, with nice complexity and depth, fine tannins, and a medium long finish. My #2 wine of the flight. | | | 2008: the end of an error | |

| Found in the 2007 Cellar Inventory;
- 1999 Antinori Tignanello Toscana IGT - Italy, Tuscany, Toscana IGT (1/7/2007)
Dark purple in color; Not giving much on the nose but delivered through the palate and finish; Lots of cinnamon notes overlaying blackberry fruit. Very nice velvet texture and balance. From previous experience there is some bottle variation with this wine whether is be from provenance or bottling. This was one of the good bottles but definitely not a blockbuster. (91 pts.)
