After drinking a fantastic white burgundy in the Boillot Puligny, we were served this dark wine blind in a decanter. Unfortunately, I had to run so I only got a half a glass of this before leaving...

Clerico 1999 Barolo Ciabot Mentin Ginestra

Dark and opaque in color. Precise aromas of minerals, ripe and sweet black fruits, and flowers. A blockbuster mid-palate with a long finish. A wine of power but of balance and finesse. Superb 94+ points.

I'm surprised this wine drank so well so early. My only regret was having leave before really digging into this wine!
