1990 Pol Roger Champagne Brut Rose -- a beautiful, dark salmon color made this wine immediately appealing; nice nose of berries and cherries; persistent, small bead in the mousse; nice texture in the mouth, much less acidic than most Champagnes, with delicious cherry and strawberry flavors immediately evocative of Pinot Noir, with pie dough and cream flavors that hang on through a very long finish. Silky juice between the bubbles. More than many sparklers, this is a pretty complete wine due to its excellent balance. Time has been kind to it, and it can probably go for a few more years effortlessly. App. 93-4 pts. My last bottle, and a wine that I'll miss.
