Just saw some
tasting notes on the 1999. I had its younger brother last night.
Now here was a suprise. A “shelf talker” by Kermit Lynch promised really nice things from this inexpensive package ($13.99) so I took the plunge. Intense, but coordinated, red with bright fruit of bing cherries and raspberries, wood smoke, and pine tar. Finishes with dry, dusty tannins. It works for a pleasant experience and great QPR. Tomorrow I’ll go back for more. 87 points.
