| From a 2 day Anniversary Party last month
As if I needed any more argument that Champagne is best drunk from magnum, this bottle was tremendous. The exuberant aromas of ripe apples and pears, lemongrass, glazed almonds, freshly baked sourdough, citrus zest and chalky minerals are lifted to the nose with every tiny bubble. The palate is full and richer than the Dom with sturdy flavors of bread, a hint of cocoa, ample ripe white fruits and again the mineral that comes only from Champagne. The finish is long with flavors of nuts and a hint of buttered toast. It will only get better over a long period, since being in magnum, but give it 8-12 years to bloom into an even more stellar performer. This magnum, would surely last up to 20 years or more. It was an exceptional beginning to the party. | | |
