i may have this note in the wrong place. my french geography is a bit weak, but i thought the coteaux du languedoc was in the rhone. if i am incorrect, please put this in the right place, o moderators, & feel free to delete this disclaimer.
i drank this a few nights ago with dinner at home & enjoyed it so much, i felt compelled to post this note:
this wine had an intriguing nose of red & dark fruits & spices i couldn't identify. on the palate the dominant fruit was ripe plum, with cherries & some earth undertones. there was a very good finish with some interesting spices reminiscent of the nose. i'll give this 92 points & declare it my qpr champion of the last couple of years.
i bought a case or more of this a year or so ago & drank most of it right away because i thought it was a drink now kind of wine & i only paid $10.99 for it (plus tax, less case discount). i'm glad i have a couple of bottles left & i don't really think i should save them, i don't see how they could get much better. chime in if you disagree, please.
i remember buying this wine because ws gave this a good rating, 93 points i bellieve, & it was very inexpensive for such a rating. there was another wine i bought at the same time from the same area, chateau la roque, that got the same rating from ws & i have a couple of bottles of that left as well. i guess i will be having one of those soon
