| A first for me, never had Trousseau before though I have studied the varietal.
Orange-ruby with a watery meniscus and bricked edge. Delicate nose, very pinot like, actually this is better than many pinot nose's I have smelled. Meat, orange rind, black cherry, blackberry, tea, scorched earth, old leather and a very Burgundian sous bois. Moderate body, high complexity, amazing intensity with such litheness, moderate acidity and tannin that slowly builds. Palate has a more pronounced dark cherry, black raspberry, blackberry, game, orange rind, black tea, leather and damp earth. Impressed, and at $25 a great deal. 92pts. (of course I don't have any other Trousseau's to benchmark this against) | | |
