Interesting and distinctive NV. I liked this.
N.V. P. Lancelot-Royer Champagne Cuvée des Chevaliers - France, Champagne (11/16/2007) 90+; A North Berkeley cuvee; Good NV champagne with distinct chalk and marzipan flavors. This had a lot of acid and a medium-large mousse (possibly a result of travel shock, will comment with the next bottle). I liked the flavor profile in this champagne. A note from NB about the wine: "Our selection, the non-vintage “Cuvée des Chevaliers,” is a 100% Grand Cru Chardonnay wine that is aged much longer on its lees (on average 3 1/2 years) than the family's regular blend." Decently priced at ~$40. (90 pts.)
