I don't have a lot of experience with this Champagne house so it was a bit harder to judge. It didn't have the acidity and structure for a long haul Champagne but that's probably a toss-up.
1996 Henriot Champagne Brut Millésimé - France, Champagne (11/4/2007)
Actually a 91+; Medium gold in color and medium weight for champagne. Fine mousse. Lots of brioche, hazelnet and spice with no harsh edges. Balanced with a reasonable amount of acidity. Stylistically similar to Taittinger Comtes than to the heavyweight champagnes like Krug. Tasty bubbles. (91 pts.)What I do know is that this Champagne is one of the last 1996 Champagnes currently in the market. And this champagne runs about $55-70 pb. With many NV champagnes rising in price to $40+ you really can't lose paying a bit more for this classy Champagne.
Go forth and buy good vintage champagne.Â
