ok, so it's not an '01 german, but it is the first riesling i have tried. it was $12.99 at costco, so i figured what the hell. it also had a tag hanging on it's neck saying that it got 90 points from the wine advocate.
this wine is a very pale gold in color. it has very little aroma & what there is is a fresh citrus scent. it is well balanced with a nice acidity that went well with the caprese i made this afternoon & is nice sipping on the patio watching ethan try to learn to swim at 1 year old

. at least we won't hit triple digits today. the dominant flavor is grapefruit, with some lemon notes as well. it has a relatively long, somewhat tart finish. if wa says 90 points, who am i, a first time riesling drinker, to dispute it

? i would be curious what this would compare to in a german riesling. for $12.99, i'd buy this again.
