2002 vintage - Almost like a Meursault, crisp with wet stones, apples, soaked wood, cream and lemon tart.  Full body, high complexity and acidity.  Peach, strawberry, spice, lemon and toffee on the palate. 90pts.

Philippe Chartogne produces wines from 12ha in the Montagne des Reims with cru sites in Merfy, Chenay and Saint Thierry.  Producing 6700 cases annually from vines planted 50% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay and 10% Meunier on chalk with sandstone, averaging 25 years of age.  The Montagne de Reims is a horseshoe shaped area with a variety of expositions, made up of soils of Cretaceous chalk with mixtures of clay and sand.  The village is planted to 56% Pinot noir, 28% Chardonnay and 16% Meunier.
